Our team
Velvet Rock Partners is led by Andrew Burr and David Raymond, who are building the search around preparation, persistence, and respect for the owners and employees behind enduring local businesses.
Andrew focuses on investment thesis development, owner outreach, financial analysis, and relationship-building with business owners, mentors, lenders, and advisors. He is a member of the Dartmouth College Class of 2029 and competes in varsity cross country and track & field.
David brings a research-driven approach, analytical discipline, and operating curiosity to Velvet Rock’s sourcing and diligence process. He is a member of the Dartmouth College Class of 2029 and competes in varsity cross country and track & field.
How we work
We recognize that we are early in our careers. We treat that honestly and constructively by working hard, asking good questions, and surrounding the search with experienced operators, investors, lenders, attorneys, accountants, and industry professionals.
Our job is to be prepared, accountable, and humble while respecting the expertise of the owner and employees who built the business. We do not view an acquisition as a spreadsheet exercise. We view it as a responsibility.
Owners speak directly with the people leading the search and seeking to operate the business after closing.
We involve appropriate advisors for financing, diligence, legal matters, accounting, and industry-specific operating questions.
Our search is rooted in the Upper Valley and surrounding New Hampshire and Vermont communities.
